Charlize Theron And Channing Tatum Set Up On Date By Seth Rogen?_1

Are Charlize Theron and Channing Tatum going on a date thanks to Seth Rogen? That's the scenario one of the tabloids invented. Gossip Cop can set the record straight.

The story is teased on the cover of the new Life ' Style, which features the headline: "Channing ' Charlize: Hot New Couple Alert!" The accompanying article dials back the premise a bit, saying Rogen is trying to set up Tatum with his Long Shot co-star. "Word is, both camps are very interested," an alleged source tells the magazine.

Theron and Tatum have a history – the two stars performed a ballroom-style dance together at the 2013 Oscars. The supposed source notes that the Magic Mike star was married to Jenna Dewan at the time, but adds, "Their chemistry was off the charts. He always thought Charlize was super talented, not to mention drop-dead gorgeous." This same tipster somehow knows how Theron feels about the actor, saying she "thought Channing was handsome and charming back then, too. Put it this way – she's totally into giving him a shot."

The tabloid's story is total fiction. There's a bunch of dots being connected here, but none of them fit together. There's Rogen – who co-starred with Theron in Long Shot and cast Tatum in a cameo role in This Is the End. Then there's Tatum, who's newly single following his split from Jessie J last month. Theron is also single, and just so happened to have danced with Tatum at the Oscars seven years ago. The outlet has used all of these aspects to create a love connection between Theron and Tatum – compliments of Rogen. It's all fabricated.

Gossip Cop checked in with an individual in Theron's camp, who tells us there's "zero truth" to the tabloid's article. Rogen isn't playing matchmaker for his former co-stars. This is a non-story.

It should be noted, Life ' Style has a habit of setting Theron up on dates with random celebrities. Last May, Gossip Cop busted the tabloid for falsely claiming Theron was going on a date with Trevor Noah. The actress and the Daily Show host, both of whom are South African, have been friends for years. There's never been anything romantic between them.

Back in 2018, Gossip Cop called out the tabloid for wrongly reporting that Theron was dating Alexander Skarsgard, who also co-starred in Long Shot. That love connection was also created out of thin air. This latest article involving Tatum is equally untrue, in addition to being based on a random crossing of paths.
